Wisconsin State Ladies Retreat

We left at 6 am for Green Lake, Wisconsin where the retreat was held.  It was the first year at this location. Ever since 1982 the ladies have been meeting one year at Maranatha and the next year at Northland.  The move was made to a conference center that is a hotel (no more bunk beds).  Interesting enough the meetings were held in Pillsbury Hall.

There were seven of us that were able to attend.  Connie and Kathy were enjoying dessert.

Martha didn't ride with us because she left early and rode with her mom and sisters.

The meetings and workshops were outstanding.  The speaker was Faith Taylor from Simpsonville, South Carolina. Even though she missed her connecting flight and got in late, those in charge "adjusted" and you never would have known of the "kaffuffle."  I had the priviledge of playing the Steinway grand piano.  Although, my reoccuring dream (nightmare) came to life - the piano started moving away as I was playing.  I guess the same thing happened to Debbie Tapp as she was playing for our trio.  We just kept singing and she followed the piano as it moved.  We all had a good laugh!!  The moral to the story is:  make sure there are brakes on the wheels of a piano that is on wheels.

Another blessing of the retreat was being able to see a group of ladies from the church in Monroe where Dwight was the interim pastor for a year while we lived in Rockford.  It was wonderful to hear how the Lord is blessing that little church.  They have done alot of improvements to the building and were so excited to tell about it.  The biggest blessing was to hear about several of the young people.  One young man that Dwight had the priviledge of baptizing is a student at Maranatha.  Another young lady that dealt with a moral problem, is now graduating with her Master's degree and liviing for the Lord.  I guess I have to say again, "You just NEVER know." 

After the First Week of Spring

The flowers are blooming but will probably be done by Easter.  Hopefully, the tulips will be ready.

These were the tulips and daffodils on Sunday.  The 70+ weather has caused the flowers to start blooming.

It's a Girl (after three boys)!

We had a party to shower all kinds of pink things on a sweet little girl that God gave to one of our church families.

It was a fun time because Grandma Mabel could have the party at her new house.

One of the ladies always makes a hooded bath towel with the baby's name on it for each new baby. Dawn is so happy to finally get a pink one.

An Answer to Prayer

The first week of March we had a new sound system intalled at the church. There had been money designated to this project aa well as a memorial gift.  A gentleman from Janesville came up and worked with  men from the church to install it.

Ben was a great help to John as well as two other men.

 It takes the young ones to be willing to climb up high. I guess Ben likes height.  He also helps his dad climb to the top of silos so it must come naturally.  Dwight says the new system helps you feel the "presence" of the sound.  There are some things to tweak and fine tune.  Praise the Lord!

Late Winter Activities

The King's Kids made tye-dyed pillow cases.  They will get to see how their cases turned out next Sunday.

It was "Crazy Hat Night" at King's Kids, also.

I guess some of the kids couldn't say verses with their hats on so I only caught a few crazy ones.

The Leap Year Snow Storm came shortly after we got home from a Pastor's and Wives Retreat.  Our neighbor got his four-wheeler stuck at the end of the driveway.  He rocked it back and forth til he got it out.

There was a lot of heavy, wet snow to move around.  We did not have Prayer Meeting on Wednesday night.  The church parking lot did not get plowed out for a couple of days.

We finished the month of February with  an Adult Valentine Fellowship out at Camp Chetek.

We didn't have as many as in previous years, but some new people were there and that was a blessing.
