"A Patchwork of Love"
We had a Quilting theme for our Mother Daughter Brunch this year. This beautiful quilt was a gift for Elton and Mabel's 50th Anniversary. It was made by her sister.
I was surprised that so many of our ladies had handmade quilts. It was interesting to hear the history behind many of the quilts. Many were made by great grandmothers.
We had some Quilting Trivia questions and gave away quite a few unique prizes. Of course, there were no wrong answers. If you were brave enough to answer, you got a prize.
Each table was set by a differnt lady. This table was set by a farming family. Could you guess??? The favors are bags of "gummy" eggs.
Some took the opportunity to use special china.
My sister-in-law and neice and her daughter were able to come. It was fun to have them sit at my table along with a new lady and our speaker.
It's That Time of Year Again
A friend came and tilled our garden. He had to work hard because we had put a layer of straw on the garden in the fall. Now we are waiting for our helpers from Illinois to come for the "Planting."
The lupine is up and looking good. It reminds me of Canada and all the wild lupine we had growing along the walking path.
