Why Oh, Why ????
I have been sitting at the computer for the better part of the afternoon typing the Christmas program for church. Some of the script I was creating as I was typing along and parts I had already written down and was copying. Part way through the phone rang that needed the attention of pastor, so I saved what I had done and ran outside to find the "lawnmower guy." I continued when I came in and then proof read the entire program. AND THEN ------ poof it all went away. I don't know what key I touched but it was gone. Then when I tried to go into the file, the computer said it was CORRUPTED. How could it be corrupt???? I was doing the Christmas story. I'm sure the devil must have some demons inside my computer!!!
To make a sad, long story short my dear husband couldn't retreive it, my daughter and son-in-law had no magic answers ------so back to the keypad I will go.

Grammy's Day Out
Connie took me to the Mall of America. Some of the grandkids have been there so now I can join the ranks. The "funnest"place was American Girl. I wish I could have stayed and played dolls.
I did not go on any of the rides.
I didn't even sit down and play legos for a while.
The old home plate was fascinating.
And here is Connie on home plate. Thank you for the fun day.
Bountiful Blessings
The harvest of our garden was GREAT!!
My pickles have become famous. I got several calls for the receipe for Mrs. T's Dill Pickles.
To aid in the preservation of the veggies, my dear husband bought me a pressure canner.
Yellow and green beans line my shelves, waiting to end up on the plates of my dear grandchildren.
Thank the Lord most of the produce is picked. This is what we woke up to this morning. The tomatoes are still ripening as well as the raspberrries. The covers helped alot.
It looked like snow. We were having HOT weather last week. I am ready for cool temperatures, but NOT freezing.
Birthday Celebrations
Here is the Birthday Boy. Its the one on the right, heh, heh!! The other fella is compliments of the ComoZoo.
We had a Sunday night potluck dinner and managed to add the surprise of a birthday cake complete with a John Deere mower and a "dream fourr-wheeler and trailer."
Happy people ready for a good feed.
We ended the evening with a bonfire and sing time. The night was beautiful, the moon full and not much in the way of mosquitoes to bother.
It was a blessed way to begin year three here in Hillsdale.

Garden Gertie at Work
You have noticed that I have not blogged for a month now. That is because I am out in the garden picking beans, picking cukes, more beans, more cukes, making pickles, making dill beans, canning beans. There are NO pictures taken of GG when she is working. My dear husband just looks at me and smiles a little or laughs outloud. He is probably thinking "Is this what I signed up for 43 years ago?"
Now I can hear my Canada sister and her husband holding their sides with laughter. I have been the object of such laughter through the years. I don't even wear my garden hat anymore because of the laughter it produced. I do have to say the garden has done VERY WELL this year. The tomatoes are beginning to ripen, and I have made the first installment of salsa. I had juice running down my arms and dripping on the floor. Oh the mess I can make. But--- seeing all the jars on the shelves in the basement, makes it all worth it. I am so excited that I can share with my children and friends.
